The Ask

The project involved developing a fashion line sheet for Fall/Winter 2023, which includes mood boards, shapes, a color palette, creation of patterns , and the final sheet presentation. This project is grounded in comprehensive research on a place to later be translated into patterns for our line sheet.

MOCK COLLECTION

This collection was inspired by the Italian town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, renowned for its rich snow sports history. It hosted the first internationally televised Winter Olympic Games in 1956, is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts, and will co-host the 2026 Winter Olympic Games with Milan, Italy. I drew inspiration from the town's architecture, vibrant culture, and the iconic Olympic logo from the 1956 Games to design the patterns featured in each garment.

The target market for this line includes individuals who actively participate in snow sports, those interested in starting, and people in colder climates seeking stylish snow wear. This collection is particularly relevant as, emerging from the pandemic, more people are exploring new activities, spending time outdoors, and traveling—key factors contributing to the growing snow sports culture.


LOOKS

The first part of the mock collection is the Olympian Ring Ski jacket, on the left, in 3 bright color ways. While some of garments are neutral tones, I team to focus on garments that would be colorful in comparison to snow for safety reasons. As seen in the fabric content for the majority of the line, GORE-Tex fabric is used which is essentially a 3 layer fabric that is waterproof making it safe and easy for snow sports.
